HOW IMPORTANT ARE COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND SPONSORS TO HEROES WITH ABILITY?

As a not-for-profit organisation, our partners, sponsors and donors are crucial to helping us deliver quality programs for those with varying abilities. Prior to Covid restrictions HWA was delivering weekly face to face programs for students in the local schools in the Parramatta area assisting 150/170 students ,integrating them with sports within the school environment. Even through the recent lockdowns, we have still been able to deliver programs, including Zoom call fitness-sessions and social wellbeing sessions featuring our special guest ambassadors to 120-150 participants a week. These sessions have enabled us to maintain the important connection with our participants and bring joy through the challenges that the community is facing.

When an organisation such as Parramatta Leagues Club reaches out to us to offer us a grant, it has a far-reaching impact on us.

Firstly, Parramatta Leagues Club represents a valuable community partner as many of our Rugby League programs are delivered in the broader Parramatta area. The Parramatta Leagues Club brand resonates with many of our participants who are avid Eels fans. This increases motivation and excitement for participants to take part and be involved in our sessions.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, the grant helps us to deliver sporting programs for people living with disability. The grant from Parramatta Leagues Club will directly support these heroes with ability by enabling us to purchase more equipment to enhance the activities that we can provide.

This support is vital and means that we can continue to provide high-quality programs in an inclusive environment. With so many barriers to participation in sport for people living with disability, being able to provide free sporting programs for this community is essential. Without our partners, such as Parramatta Leagues Club, this wouldn’t be possible, and these individuals would simply miss out.

Heroes with Ability would like to take this chance to thank Parramatta Leagues Club Marketing Manager, Sarah Young and Michael Basan Parramatta Eels for their role in this grant. https://www.parraeels.com.au https://www.parraleagues.com.au
