Wednesday 15th September 2021: Marco Quintao and George Tonna of Heroes With Ability and Belinda Smith of Afford spoke with Channel Nine about how Heroes With Ability are helping young disabled people cope during the lockdown by holding a series of Zoom meetings in a recently-launched interactive program.
The interactive program also gives young disabled fans the opportunity to meet up and chat with NRL stars. Amongst the NRL stars to participate in the program were:
Ryan Matterson of Parramatta Eels, Ivan and Nathan Cleary of the Penrith Panthers, Billy Walters of the Wests Tigers, Kevin Walters of the Brisbane Broncos, Aaron Woods of the Cronulla Sharks, Chris Heighington (ex Wests Tigers, Cronulla Sharks and Newcastle Knights), Sean Keppie of the Manly Sea Eagles and Brett White of the Canberra Raiders.
A special mention was given to two of our ambassadors, Nathan Cleary and Ryan Matterson as their two teams go head-to-head this Saturday night at BB Print Stadium in Mackay, in the NRL semi-finals. Go Panthers and Eels!
